The Foreign Policy, Peace and Security Series (FPPSS) is dedicated to publishing scholarly books on critical issues of international relations, especially those concerning Indias security and its foreign policy. The series aims to bring to bear diverse opinions to help generate informed debate on Indias relationships with the outside world. The volumes will be analytically rigorous and rich in detail. They will, however, be written consciously for a wider non-specialist audience. As India enters the 21st century, in a world that is both anarchic and integrated, Indians can no longer afford the luxury of ignoring external relations or leaving critical decisions to a small group of experts. The Foreign Policy, Peace and Security will, hopefully, help bridge the information and analysis gap between experts on international relations and ordinary interested Indians.
